How I Work

Initial Contact

I know that beginning therapy can feel like a significant decision. To support you in this process, I offer a complimentary 15 minute consultation, giving you the opportunity to get a sense of my approach and ask any questions you might have.

This helps you ensure you feel informed and at ease before deciding to arrange an initial session.

First Session

Our first session provides an opportunity and space for you to discuss your current situation and explore how therapy might support you and to gain a sense of whether you feel comfortable enough to engage in counselling.

There's no obligation to continue afterward - you can take things at your own pace.

Continuing Therapy

Many clients start with weekly session, as meeting regularly helps us to build a trusting relationship and maintain steady progess. Of course, everyone's situation is unique, and we can talk together about what frequency feels most comfortable for you during our first meeting.

Confidentiality

What we talk about in the therapy room is confidential. I will explain my confidentiality policy when we meet, and you can ask me any questions about it. I am bound by GDPR and am registered with the ICO.

Ethical Practice

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I work in line with their Ethical Framework. This reflects my commitment to offering a safe, respectful, and professional service grounded in integrity, confidentiality, and client autonomy.

I also engage in regular professional supervision and ongoing training to ensure I maintain the highest standards of ethical and effective practice.
